Release:  05/11/2011

FRESNO, Calif. - New Mexico State softball fans in Las Cruces will be able to follow the Aggies live on KSNM 570 AM at 12:30 p.m. MT Thursday when Kyle Doperalski broadcasts the duel between top-seeded NM State and fourth-seeded Hawai'i at the WAC Softball Tournament held at host Fresno State's Bulldog Diamond.

Every Aggie softball game this weekend will be carried live via the Aggie Sports Radio Network with play-by-play from Doperalski. Aggie faithful outside of Las Cruces can listen to the broadcast live on NMStateSports.com or follow all of the tournament action on Twitter by following NMStateAggies. Fans can also follow the action with live streams of the tourney on WAC.tv.

NM State (40-15, 17-4 WAC) earned a first-round bye as the top seed in the tourney after sweeping second-seeded Boise State for its first outright WAC title in Las Cruces last weekend. The Aggies open play in the double elimination tournament against the Rainbow Wahine who defeated Utah State 6-1 in the opening round Wednesday afternoon.

The Aggies lost their only WAC series of the year at Hawai'i with three one-run losses to UH on April 29-30. Hawai'i (36-16, 14-7 WAC) is riding a seven-game win streak coming into the game that began with the sweep of the Aggies two weeks ago in Honolulu.

An Aggie win against Hawai'i keeps NM State in the winner's bracket with its next game slated for 3 p.m. MT Friday. If the Aggies stumble against UH NM State would play third-seeded Fresno State, a 2-0 loser to sixth-seeded Louisiana Tech Wednesday night, at 5:30 p.m. MT Thursday in an elimination game.
