LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State softball head coach Kathy Rodolph announced the signing of Jasmine Stokes for the 2015 season. Stokes (Torrance, Calif.) is the second player in as many days that Rodolph has announced as the newest Aggies to sign a National Letter of Intent.

“Jasmine is a quick and powerful outfielder,” Rodolph said. “We anticipate her having a big upside at the college level. Jasmine is also a diligent student so she will fit right in with our team culture.”

The outfielder from South High School played on varsity for the Spartans for each of her four years. In her junior season, Stokes was named to second team All-Pioneer League after hitting .343 with four home runs and 18 RBI off 20 hits. She helped the Spartans to a 23-11 record as a sophomore and a 20-10 record in her first season with the team. Stokes and SHS finished fourth in the Pioneer League in 2011-12 and advanced to the CIF finals that season.

Stokes joins Jaelyn Romo, who Rodolph announced on Thursday, April 17 as part of the 2015 class. The pair add to the four early signees for the Aggies, Rachel Rodriguez (Paramount, Calif.), Corrin Green (Glendale, Ariz.), Dallas McBride (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Amy Bergeson (Tucson, Ariz.).
