LAS CRUCES, N.M.-Members of the New Mexico State University track and field team will be running in two separate events this weekend starting on Friday, Feb. 10, with Aggies traveling to Seattle, Wash., for the Husky Invite and to Colorado Springs, Colo., for the Air Force Invite.

The majority of the team will be heading to the Air Force Invite for their last competition before the Western Athletic Conference Championships, scheduled for Feb. 23.

"Most of our athletes running in Colorado Springs this weekend will be running for us in the WAC Championships," head track and field coach Orin Richburg said.  "This will give us a good chance to see where we are at and to try and get a better seeding for the championships."

Juniors Courtney and Camille Schultz and senior Madelyn Stoltze will be the only Aggies running at the Husky Invite.  The three Aggies are a part of the strong core of distance runners for the team.

"All of our meets this season have been at high altitude," Richburg said.  "We wanted to send the twins and Stoltze to get them a chance to run at sea level."

Boise, Idaho, which is the chosen site of the upcoming WAC Championships, sits at an elevation over 1,000 feet lower than Las Cruces.

The two events will be the last form of competition before the WAC Championships take place on Feb. 23.  Last season NM State finished fifth in the conference.
