Phoenix, Ariz. - The New Mexico State Aggies competed in several events at the Arizona State University (ASU) Sun Angel Invite this weekend, a day after performing well at the Mesa Community College Classic.
Continuing the winning ways for the Aggies was sophomore LaSasha Aldredge who won the women's 200m collegiate open with a time of 24.60. Fellow teammates Leah Benton and Alishia Perkins ran in the women's 200m premier event and placed fourth and fifth with times of 24.56 and 24.58 respectively.
Aldredge also placed fifth in the women's 400m premier with a time of 56.69 while Benton placed third in the women's 100m collegiate open in 12.19.
Another Aggie performing well at the Sun Angel Invite was Horlexus Willis who placed sixth in the women's triple jump with a leap of 10.78m or 35-04.50.
Due to competing in the Mesa Community College Classic the day before, NM State only participated in selected events.
The Aggies return to action this coming Thursday, Apr. 14 and Friday, Apr. 15 at the Mt. Sac Invite which is all day on both days. NM State is also scheduled to compete at the Azusa Pacific Meet in Azusa, Calif. On Friday, Apr. 15 and at the UTEP Invite Saturday, Apr. 16 beginning at 10 a.m. (MT).
