LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The New Mexico State women's track and field squad will begin the outdoor track and field season this weekend in Tucson, Ariz. The team will compete in the University of Arizona Dave Murray Invite on Friday and the U of A Willie Williams Invite on Saturday.

"This weekend we are hoping to get a good start to the season and see where we are," head coach Orin Richburg said. "We will see what our kids can do."

NM State will be using multiple athletes in multiple events to get a better feel of who excels best in certain outdoor events opposed to indoor events.

"I'm excited to see what we can do," Richburg said. "We will get a variety of times, see what our times are, and go from there."

The action begins in Tucson this Friday, March, 18 at 3pm (MT) and continues on Saturday, March, 19 at 1pm (MT).
