LAS CRUCES, N.M.—New Mexico State track and field coach Orin Richburg released the 2014 indoor and outdoor track and field schedules on Tuesday.
The upcoming schedule includes a possible five trips to Albuquerque, N.M., for the Lobo Invitational (Jan. 18), the Cherry and Silver (Jan. 23), the Don Kirby (Feb. 14), the NCAA Indoor Championships (March 14) and the Don Kirby for the outdoor season (May 2).
When the Aggies aren’t in Albuquerque they will spend the majority of their time in Texas. The Aggies will travel to El Paso for the UTEP Springtime Invitational (March 22) and the UTEP Invitational (April 12).
The track and field team will travel to Lubbock for the Masked Rider (Jan. 31), Texas Tech Open (April 5) and the Red Raiders Open (May 3).
The 2014 WAC Indoor Championships will be held Feb. 26-28, in Moscow, Idaho, while the 2014 WAC Outdoor Championships will be in Orem, Utah, on May 14-16.
The 2014 NCAA Outdoor Regionals will be held on May 29-31, in Fayetteville, Ark., and the Aggies will travel to Eugene, Ore., for the 2014 NCAA Championships on June 11-14.
“We wanted to make sure that we set up a schedule that allowed all of our athletes to compete in,” head coach Orin Richburg said. “This schedule allows me to see all the athletes in some form of competition this season.”
