LAS CRUCES, N.M. (Sept. 23)-Success in the pool doesn’t exclusively revolve around the water for the New Mexico State swimming and diving team. It also includes things such as dry-landing training and team-building exercises.

The Aggies are preparing for the 2013-14 season in a variety of ways including an overnight camping trip at Leasburg Dam State Park, Sept. 20.

“Our team chemistry has never been stronger, and we have a special group of young ladies,” head coach Rick Pratt said. “Getting away from campus and doing some team-building activities is a great experience for our team, and an important step when starting the season.”

With the regular season just a month away, NM State hosts the annual Crimson and White meet, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m., in preparation for dual-meet action.

“Athletically, this is one of the best in program history,” he said. “But to succeed we need to support each other every day.  We certainly have a group that has embraced that, and they have many qualities that can lead them to amazing things.”

The Aggies open the 2013-14 regular season at Air Force, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. in Colorado Springs, Colo.
