LAS CRUCES, N.M. (July 12)-The New Mexico State swimming and diving team continues to excel both in the pool and in the classroom under head coach Rick Pratt.

For the seventh consecutive year, the Aggies have a place on the Division I Team Scholar All-America Spring 2012 list, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced. NM State posted a team grade point average of 3.52 for the spring 2012 semester and tied for 10th in the team standings.

This marks the third time the Aggies have landed in the top 10. Previously, NM State ranked second following fall of 2006 (3.566) and ninth after fall of 2009 (3.44). In Pratt's seven years in Las Cruces, the Aggies haven't had a team G.P.A. lower than 3.2.

"This is the second highest G.P.A. our team has had since I have been here, and the highest spring G.P.A. we have ever had," head coach Rick Pratt said. "I am very proud of our accomplishments in the classroom, and it is once again a strong sign of the culture of our team and the level of support our student-athletes receive at NM State. Our goals are to always have above a 3.5 as a team G.P.A., and it is a great feeling to accomplish that along side our progress athletically we have made."
