LAS CRUCES, N.M. (May 2)-The New Mexico State swimming and diving team had four swimmers earn CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major All-America honors.

Freshman Aliena Schmidtke led the way on the All-America team, while senior Maria Spies, sophomore Tricia Kiss and freshman Jessica Legge were honorable mention selections.

Schmidtke collected the honor after qualifying for the 2012 NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships. She is only the second Aggie in school history to compete at the national meet. Spies, Kiss and Legge received the honor after recording NCAA 'B' standards, but not selected for the national championships.

As a team, the Aggies recorded 12 NCAA 'B' cuts, a program-record, in 2012, which were seven more than a year ago.
