Legge Named WAC Swimmer of the Week

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (Jan. 10)-New Mexico State freshman swimmer Jessica Legge was named the Verizon WAC Swimmer of the week for the Week of Jan. 3-10. This is the first career honor for Legge, and the second of the season for the Aggies.

Legge, a Newcastle, Australia native, garnered runner-up honors in the 200 individual medley (2:08.34) at a five-team meet in Tucson, Ariz. She also paced the Aggies in the breaststroke events with a fourth-place showing in the 100 breast (1:04.75) and sixth-place finish in the 200 breast (2:21.11).

"Jessica is making a huge impact for our team, and it's nice to see her get this award," head coach Rick Pratt said. "I am really excited to see how see does at our conference meet."
