LAS CRUCES, N.M. (Dec. 9)- The New Mexico State swimming and diving team concludes the fall semester at the UNLV Invitational, Saturday, Dec. 11 to Monday, Dec. 13, in Las Vegas, Nev.

The Aggies are returning to the invitational after a two-year hiatus. In 2007-08, NM State finished fifth out of 10 teams.

“It has been an extremely productive fall and heading to UNLV for its winter invite is a great way to finish our semester for several reasons,” head coach Rick Pratt said. “To swim in a heats and finals setting is very beneficial for our preparation for our conference meet.

“With solid competition, we will be challenged in many ways and get to see people swim some events that we have not had a chance much this semester. We’re staying for a little training camp following the meet, and it is always productive to do this at a different location away from our normal setting. This will be a great team building experience and with finals behind us I am expecting some great things.”

After the New Year, the Aggies return to competition at Northern Colorado, Jan. 21.
