Swimming and Diving Heads to WAC Championships

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (Feb. 26)-The New Mexico State swimming and diving team travels to San Antonio, Texas, for the WAC Championships. The four-day meet begins Wednesday, Feb. 27, and the champion is crowned Saturday, March 2.

"This is a special group of ladies we have, and I am very excited to watch them perform this week," head coach Rick Pratt said. "They have worked very hard and sacrificed much for not only their own success, but for the program and this week will be a celebration of their efforts.  We are ready to go, and I know will turn some heads."

The Aggies have been very successful at the WAC meet. NM State has garnered the WAC Freshman of the Year honor for the past two seasons. The Aggies finished in fourth place with 429 points in 2012. NM State broke nine school records at the conference meet last season including the 100 back, 200 back, 200 butterfly, 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 400-free relay, 800-free relay and 200-medley relay.
