LAS CRUCES, N.M.— The New Mexico State soccer head coach Freddy Delgado announced the 2014 spring soccer schedule which includes four home contests and one game in Albuquerque, N.M. The first game is set for Wednesday, March 5.
“The main focus of the spring season is on team and individual development. We want to implement a few tactical changes from what we did this past fall in terms of our attack and our individual ability to score goals,” Delgado said. “We have good competition on the schedule which will provide us with the environment we need to see how far we have progressed.”
The Aggies host Cochise Community College, March 5 at 4:30 p.m. in their first home match. NM State then travels to Albuquerque, N.M., to face Adams State, March 9 at 1 p.m.
“Since we have so many players from the Albuquerque area, the team is very motivated to play in front of what we hope will be an excellent crowd in Albuquerque on March 9th,” Delgado said. “It is always exciting to have a home game versus a Pac 12 opponent and we are looking forward to playing against some of the quality in state programs New Mexico has to offer.”
NM State closes out the spring season with three matches at home, beginning with University of Arizona on Sunday, April 6. The Aggies then host New Mexico Highlands and Eastern New Mexico, April 12 at 3 p.m. and April 13 at 11 a.m., respectively.
