Aggie Soccer Records Tie in Double Overtime

GREELEY, Colo. (Sept. 13)-After 110 minutes of action, the New Mexico State soccer team recorded a 0-0 draw at Northern Colorado. The Aggies are now 2-4-1 following their first double overtime match of the year, and the Bears move to 2-3-1.  

“We played incredibly hard,” head coach Blair Quinn said. “We didn’t play real well in the first half, but I think we absolutely outplayed them in the second half and overtime. We got a great effort from every single player.”

Defensively, senior goalkeeper Jessica Schutter anchored the Aggies with a seven saves, which ties a career-high performance.

On the offensive side of the field, senior midfielder Mary Kate Koziol and junior midfielder Katie Smith led the Aggies with four shots each. The duo tied its career-high marks against the Bears. The Aggies recorded a season-high 13 shots as a team.

NM State concludes non-conference action at Wyoming, Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. in Laramie, Wyo.
