MOSCOW, Idaho (Oct. 28)-The New Mexico State soccer team concluded its 2012 season at Idaho. The Aggies (2-14-3 and 0-7-1 WAC) suffered a 3-1 loss to the Vandals (6-13-1 and 3-4-1) in the season finale.

Sophomore forward Layla Todd scored a goal for the Aggies in back-to-back matches on the road trip, and she led the team with four goals in 2012.

In the first half, Idaho struck first with two goals in the sixth and 40th minute. The Vandals scored again in the 60th minute of action. The Aggies answered two minutes later to cut Idaho's lead to 3-1, when Todd beat a Vandal defender on a breakaway.

"We didn't start with the necessary energy in the first half," head coach Blair Quinn said. "We gave up a couple of goals that we normally don't give up.

"In the second half, we played a lot better, and we matched them, it was a 1-1 game in the second half. We don't score enough goals to spot people a two-goal lead. The second half was much better. The second half we played a lot more of our style."

The Aggies end the season after not qualifying for the six-team WAC Tournament.
