Williamson comes to Las Cruces as a sophomore with three years of eligibility left. She last played at the University of San Diego starting one game and participating in 16 while averaging 12 minutes per game. The 5-6 guard averaged 5.1 points, 1.4 assists and 1.1 rebounds per game with the Toreros.
The floor general previously played at Mount Miguel High School in San Diego, alongside former teammate and fall Aggie signee Shay Young on the court. Williamson led the Matadors to a 98-26 record and four league championships over her four seasons. She earned first team All-CIF and All-Grossmont league honors in each of her final three seasons under the direction of head coach Robbie Sandoval.
"Williamson is a true scoring point guard who will make the game easier for her teammates," Trakh said. "Danesia is going to bring maturity and leadership to our squad."
Williamson averaged 19.2 ppg, 4.2 steals and dished out 5.2 assists per game as a senior. In her final campaign, she was named to the Division 2 All-State team and earned recognition as the East County Player of the Year and won a spot on the East County All Star team.
As a junior she was named East County Sports and the Union Tribune Player of the Year after averaging 24.4 ppg, 4.2 apg and 4.2 spg. She helped lead her team to a CIF championship as a sophomore, while posting 25.6 ppg, 4.2 steals and 3.3 assists per game.
Williamson is the sixth recruit inked by the Aggie coaching staff for the 2012-13 signing class joining spring signees Alexis Nelson, a 5-7 guard from Aurora, Illinois, Sam Donald a 5-6 guard from Melbourne, Australia, and fall signees Abby Scott, a 6-1 guard from Madras, Ore., Sasha Weber, a 6-0 guard from Lacey, Wash., and Young, a 6-0 guard from San Diego.
