11 Danesia Williamson

2013-2014 (Junior): Williamson started in all of the 22 games she played during the 2013-2014 season after missing the first part of the season for academic reasons. Williamson shot in double digits all but one game, making her the top shooter for NM State with an average of 21.5 points per game. Williamson hit a season high 37 points in the Aggies last game of the season against Idaho (3/14) during the semifinal matchup of the 2014 WAC Championship.  Her performance ties Williamson for second in the NM State record books. Williamson was best from the line at 81.7 percent hitting 107-of-131 free throws. During the WAC tournament, she broke or tied five individual records including one NM State record with free throws made at 17 against UTPA. She had one double-double on the year with 11 assists and 13 points. She led the team with 4.2 assists a game. She was named first team All-WAC and all-tournament team for her efforts, while finishing the season with five 30-point games.

2012-13 (Sophomore): Williamson made an immediate impact for the aggies during her sophomore campaign. She played in all 31 games for the Aggies including 28 starts.  The sophomore finished her first year as an Aggie with a .318 shooting percentage and 35 steals. Williamson led the team with 105 assists and delivered a career-high 10 assists twice during the season, against San Jose State (2/14) and against Utah State (2/16).  She was named WAC Player of the Week in after that stellar week with back-to-back double-doubles. She also set a career-high with 14 free throws made against Utah State and ended the season with 109 made free throws, which led the team.  She led the team in scoring in eight games during the season and scored a career-high 28 points against CSU Bakersfield (2/23). She scored in double figures in 19 games over the course of her sophomore season and 10 of those were with 15 or more points. She played a career-high 38 minutes at Idaho (2/7). 

Previous College (San Diego): She last played at the University of San Diego in 2008-09 starting one game and participating in 16 while averaging 12 minutes per game. The 5-6 guard averaged 5.1 points, 1.4 assists and 1.1 rebounds per game with the Toreros.

High School: The floor general previously played at Mount Miguel High School in San Diego, alongside former teammate and 2012 Aggie signee Shay Young on the court. Williamson led the Matadors to a 98-26 record and four league championships over her four seasons. She earned first team All-CIF and All-Grossmont league honors in each of her final three seasons under the direction of head coach Robbie Sandoval.

Williamson averaged 19.2 ppg, 4.2 steals and dished out 5.2 assists per game as a senior. In her final campaign, she was named to the Division 2 All-State team and earned recognition as the East County Player of the Year and won a spot on the East County All Star team.

As a junior she was named East County Sports and the Union Tribune Player of the Year after averaging 24.4 ppg, 4.2 apg and 4.2 spg. She helped lead her team to a CIF championship as a sophomore, while posting 25.6 ppg, 4.2 steals and 3.3 assists per game.

Personal: Williamson was born Feb. 7, 1991. She is the daughter of Maria and Larry Jones. She was heavily recruited by St. Mary's, Pepperdine, Albany, Boston College, Arizona, Arizona State, San Diego and San Francisco out of high school. She is undecided on a major.
