LAS CRUCES, N.M. (July 17)-New Mexico State men’s basketball head coach Marvin Menzies has added Tanveer Bhullar to the 2013 Class. The 7-3 center joins the Aggies for the 2013-14 season.

A Toronto, Ontario native, Bhullar joins not only the Aggies but also his older brother, Sim, in Las Cruces after graduating from Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School in Ontario and playing for head coach Paul Melnik in the 2012-13 season. Bhullar led the Crusaders to a 38-2 record and averaged 18 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks and three assists per game.

"Obviously signing Tanveer is a big get for us both literally and figuratively speaking,” Menzies said. “In the NCAA today quality size is rare, so to land Tanveer to complement our current roster is significant. Tanveer is a very talented center with a bright future. We welcome him to the Aggie Nation.”

Bhullar played at Huntington Prep in Huntington, W. Va., under coach Rob Fulford in 2011-12. He guided Huntington to a 24-2 record and a No. 43 ranking. Huntington Prep is the same school that Sim and incoming freshman guard Travon Landry attended.

Bhullar joins DK Eldridge, a 6-2 guard from Dallas, Texas and New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, N.M., and Landry, a 6-0 point guard from San Antonio, Texas, in the Class of 2013.

In 2012-13, the Aggies finished with a 24-11 record and won their second consecutive WAC Tournament title and made their second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
