The New Mexico State men's basketball team ends its WAC road trip at UTSA, Saturday Feb. 2 at 5 p.m. in San Antonio, Texas. The game can be heard on the Aggie Sports Network and KGRT 104 FM in Las Cruces with the 'Voice of the Aggies' Jack Nixon, and the pregame show starts 30 minutes prior to tip.

New Mexico State Aggies

The Aggies have won eight straight games and have a 14-8 overall record and 8-2 WAC record after an 86-72 win at Texas State, Jan. 31. Sophomore guard Daniel Mullings is leading the team with 14.8 points per game, and senior forwards Bandja Sy is also in double figures 11.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

Scouting UTSA

The Roadrunners are 5-15 and 1-9 in the WAC following a 71-57 loss to Denver, Jan. 31. Senior guard Kannon Burrage provides a team-high 18.0 points per game, and senior guard Michael Hale III adds 16.0 points per game.

Series Notes

The Aggies have a 3-1 advantage in the all-time series. NM State won the first game of the year, 82-62, Jan. 3, in Las Cruces.

Previous Game

With a strong second-half start, the Aggies defeated UTSA, 82-62, Jan. 3. The Aggies broke the school record for team field goal percentage, which stood for 39 years. NM State shot 68.6 percent from the field (35-of-51) and broke the previous record of 66.2 percent from Jan. 19, 1974. The Aggies were also one shy of tying the school record for blocked shots with 11 against the Roadrunners. Senior forward Bandja Sy scored a career-high 25 points on 9-of-12 shooting. He also had eight rebounds, three blocks and two assists. Freshman center Sim Bhullar added 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting along with three blocked shots. He helped the Aggies to a 30-point advantage in points in the paint, 48-18. Sophomore guard Daniel Mullings was also in double figures with 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting. He added four steals and four assists. NM State posted a season-high 21 assists.

Aggies Beat Texas State 86-72

NM State opened its WAC road trip to the Lone Star State with an 86-72 win at Texas State. The victory is the Aggies' eighth straight. Senior forward Bandja Sy posted his third double-double of the season with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore guard Daniel Mullings provided 22 points, and freshman center Sim Bhullar added 10 points. Sophomore forward Remi Barry also scored 10 points, which is a career-high mark.
