Release:  08/12/2014

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State volleyball fans in the Las Cruces area will have plenty of opportunities to follow their Aggies, as the team will have six matches produced for live television and 14 matches broadcast live over the radio airwaves.

Half of NM State’s home regular-season matches, six, will be broadcast live for television by the AggieVision network.  Five home matches will be broadcast over a local radio station, making it 11 of 12 home matches being broadcast either on TV or radio in Las Cruces.

All Western Athletic Conference matchups, both home and away, will either be on television or radio as well.  The rivalry matchups between New Mexico and UTEP, being played in Albuquerque and El Paso respectively, will also be aired live over the radio.

The radio broadcast schedule begins at the home-hosted NM State Tournament with the matchup versus Radford on Friday, Sept. 5.  That match will be broadcast live on 98.7 FM beginning at 7 p.m. (MT).  The remaining 13 radio broadcasts, however, will move to KSNM AM 570, beginning on the following day, Sept. 6, when the Aggies face California, a perennial top-25 team.

The television schedule begins the following week at the NM State/UTEP Tournament with two great home matchups.  NM State will welcome two top-20 teams to Las Cruces to participate in the tournament, beginning with Colorado State, which is ranked #18 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) preseason poll, on Friday, Sept. 12, beginning at 7 p.m.

Things don’t get easier for the Aggies as the following day they face off against Brigham Young University, ranked ninth in the nation by the AVCA.  That match is set for a high noon start inside the Pan American Center and will also be on AggieVision.

After a three-match road swing to the Northeast, NM State returns to Las Cruces to begin WAC play with a match versus Grand Canyon on Thursday, Sept. 25.  The conference opener will also be part of the AggieVision telecast schedule.  The three remaining AggieVision matches will be home WAC matches against Texas-Pan American (Oct. 9), Missouri-Kansas City (Oct. 16) and Seattle (Oct. 30).

All remaining conference matchups, as well as both rivalry matchups, will be broadcast live over the AM 570 airwaves culminating with the I-10 rivalry versus UTEP on Friday, Nov. 28.

The Aggies are coming off back-to-back WAC titles and were recently picked to repeat as WAC regular-season champions by the WAC coaches.  NM State begins the season with the Annual Alumni Match slated for a 3 p.m. start on Saturday, Aug. 23, inside the Pan American Center.  Admission is free for all fans.
