Brian Sheppard enters his third season as Graduate Assistant on the NM State Football Staff, and will be working on the offensive side of the ball. Sheppard's duties with NM State include opponent break downs, coaching the Aggie Tight End's and Full Backs, as well as assisting Coach Murphy with the Special Teams.
Prior to coming to NM State, Sheppard worked at Tulsa University under Steve Kragthorpe. Responsibilities included cutting up film, scouting of players, and breaking down opponents. As Offensive Quality Control, Sheppard assisted the offensive coordinator, and worked with Quarterbacks.
Before Tulsa, Sheppard played college football at Southeastern Louisiana University, before transferring to Baker University where he finished his playing career and earned his undergraduate degree in Business.
In 2001 & 2002 Sheppard was a quarterback for Saddleback Junior College, helping them to a 9-2 record both seasons and second in the league. Sheppard was an all-conference selection in football and baseball at Redmond High School (Seattle) his junior and senior seasons.
Brian's father, Mike Sheppard, is a long time football coach having spent time in college football as well as the NFL. Mike Sheppard is currently coaching Wide Receivers for the Cincinnati Bengals.
