Greg Harrod begins his second season with the New Mexico State University football squad as the Director of Football Operations. Harrod is responsible for handling a multitude of duties including: event scheduling for the Aggie coaches and football recruiting and team travel.
Prior to his hire, Harrod was the Compliance Coordinator at Southeastern Louisiana University from 2000-07. At SLU, his major focus was to supervise all aspects of its NCAA Division 1 athletic compliance program. He also oversaw the university-wide and the departmental efforts to operate the intercollegiate athletics program in accordance with the NCAA and the Southland Conference Regulations.
Before Southeastern Louisiana University, Harrod was the Assistant to the Dean for Athletic Academic Affairs at the University of New Orleans from 1994-2000. Harrod handled a myriad of duties throughout his time at UNO. A few of his duties included overseeing academic eligibility of all student-athletes as defined by the University, the Sun Belt Conference and NCAA.
Prior to University of New Orleans, he worked at Northwestern State University as an Administrative Assistant in the office of Compliance and Academic Services from 1992-1994. At NSU his main responsibilities included the compilation of squad lists, and monitoring finical aid awards.
From 1990-92 he was an assistant track & field coach in Springfield, Ma., at Springfield College.
Harrod earned a B.S. in Psychology ('90) from Pittsburg State University, while competing in track & field and earning NAIA Track and Field National Championship status and All-American honors. From there he graduated with his first Masters Degree in Counseling/Athletic Counseling ('92) from Springfield College, in Springfield, Ma. He also earned a second Masters Degree from the University of New Orleans in Business Administration ('01).
