35 Chris Nwoko

2007 (Junior): Nwoko played in 12 games for the Aggies at middle linebacker. He finished the season fourth on the team in tackles with 67, four tackles-for-a-loss and had three sacks. In his first start at middle linebacker, Nwoko tallied nine tackles against Southeastern Louisiana (8/30), including his first career sack. He then added four tackles against New Mexico (9/8) and five versus UTEP (9/15). Nwoko then collected a career-high 12 tackles against Auburn. Nwoko suffered through injuries over the next five games before coming back full strength against Nevada (11/2). Versus the Wolf Pack, Nwoko tallied nine tackles. He then recorded 11 tackles against San Jose State (11/10) and ended the season with an eight tackle performance against Fresno State (11/30).


2006 (Sophomore): Chris played in 10 games for the Aggies, starting against Hawaii (10/21). On the season he scored four touchdowns and rushed for 159 yards on 40 carries. Chris also caught six passes for 63 yards. Against Hawaii he had a season-high 59 yards rushing and a touchdown. Versus UTEP he scored his first career touchdown on a one-yard run at the goal line.


2005 (Red Shirt Freshman):  Nwoko red shirted during his second season with the Aggies


2004 (Freshman): Chris played in the first five games for the Aggies before suffering an injury that kept him out for the rest of the season.


High School: Nwoko was named the 26-4a District MVP and 26-4a Offensive Player of the Year. He was a member of the All-State and All-Central Texas tem. Rushed for 2,115 yards and 33 touchdowns. He played in the Central Texas North-South Game and was nominated for National Wendy's High School Heisman Award.


Personal: Chris was born and raised in Austin, Texas. He is the son of Augustine and Patricia Nwoko.
