56 Sam King

2008 (Junior): King played in 11 games for NM State in 2008. On the season, he tallied 13 tackles, two tackles-for-a-loss, three sacks and a fumble recovery. At Utah State (11/29), King recorded a season-high four tackles. King collected his first career sack against Alcorn State (10/4). He recorded two tackles in games against Boise State (11/1) and Louisiana Tech (11/22). He also had a tackle-for-a-loss versus the Bulldogs.


2007 (Sophomore): King played in one game for the Aggies in 2007 against Boise State (10/7).


2006 (Redshirt Freshman): King competed in one game at linebacker for the Aggies due to injury.  Against San Jose State (11/4), he recorded two assisted tackles.  He also played on special teams.


2005 (Freshman):  King redshirted during his first season with the Aggies.


High School:  King was named an all-state linebacker and second team running back in 2004. He was named all-city linebacker and running back as well as all-league linebacker and running back in 2004. King was a scholar athlete at Palo Verde HS. He tallied 102 tackles and 14 sacks in senior season. He ran for 876 yards and eight touchdowns while catching two passes for 48 yards also in his senior season. He led the team to a State Championship title with perfect 14-0 record.


Personal: Born Sam Christian King June 10, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nev., he is the son of Sam and Shirley King. He is majoring in hotel, restaurant and tourism management.
