High School: Carson led Hatch Valley High School to three class 3AAA state championships under coach Charles Gleghorn. He was a first team all-state and first team all district honoree as a senior for the Bears where he broke the school passing record. He threw for 3,967 yards and 42 touchdowns as a senior and had one 604 yard passing game.

Personal: Carson was born in Deming, N.M. and is the son of Martha and Robert Carson. He is majoring in agricultural business at New Mexico State. Carson was on the honor roll all four years in high school.
