3 Marquell Colston

2008 (Junior): Colston played in 10 games and started three for the Aggies last season as a running back.  He paced the team in rushing yards with 384 from 82 tries and four touchdowns.  He also had 76 receiving yards on four catches.  During the first game of the season at Nebraska (10/13), Colston grabbed eight passes for 45 yards, with his longest run, 22 yards, en route to his first touchdown of the season.  Against Alcorn State (10/4), he posted a season-high 127 yards on 17 carries, while finding the end zone twice.  In the Aggies first WAC road win in the program’s history, at Nevada (10/11), Colston posted 118 yards on 24 carries and recorded a season-best 58-yard run touchdown.  


Modesto JC: Colston led Modesto Junior College in rushing in 2007 with 951 yards rushing. He also recorded 492 yards receiving and 96 in return yardage, tallying a total of 1,534 all-purpose yards on the season. He is Modesto’s all-time leader in all-purpose yards with 2,370 yards in just two seasons. His freshman year, Colston rushed for 484 yards and had 100 yards receiving. He helped Modesto to a championship season in 2007.


High School:  Colston was a star running back for Grace M. Davis HS. He rushed for 1,270 yards on 167 carries and caught 13 passes for 340 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also recorded 2,067 all-purpose yards. He was named an all-conference selection as well as team most valuable player. He also participated in track & field and baseball.


Personal: Colston is the son of Ezeal and Ernestine Colston. He plans to major in individualized studies.
