39 Spencer Diaz

2009 (Junior): Diaz played in 12 games for the Aggies on special teams in 2009. On the season, he recorded six tackles. Diaz tallied one tackle against six different teams on the season.

2008 (Sophomore): Diaz played in nine games for the Aggies at linebacker and on special teams in 2008. On the season, Diaz recorded seven tackles. Against San Jose State (10/18), he tallied a season-high two tackles. Diaz recorded one tackle in five other games during the season.

2007 (Freshman): Diaz played in seven games for NM State in 2007 on special teams and at linebacker, recording 10 tackles on the season. Diaz tallied two tackles in four different games (Southeastern Louisiana – 8/30; Idaho – 10/20; Nevada – 11/2; Utah State – 11/17)

High School: As a defensive end for the Las Cruces Bulldogs, Diaz helped the Bulldogs to an 8-3 record in 2004 and a district championship. As a senior, he helped the Bulldogs to the state semifinals. Diaz was named an all-district selection in 2004 and 05 and was named defensive lineman of the year in 2006 by Las Cruces High School. In 2006, Diaz played in the North-South All-Star Game leading the South team in tackles. In 2005 he tallied a team-high 10 sacks. He also lettered in baseball in 2004 and 05.

Personal: Spencer is the son of Dick and Michelle Diaz. He plans to major in civil engineering.
