LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State football team completed fall camp practice No. 9 on the football practice field, Friday, Aug. 8 on the campus of NM State. Before practice got underway Head Coach Doug Martin announced that walk-on wide receiver Rayvean Moore would be receiving a full scholarship due to his hard work on the field and in the classroom.
“Moore is the type of player we envision having,” Martin said. “He carries a GPA above a 3.5 and works hard all the time. He’s also a playmaker.”
The NM State football team was in full pads again today and practiced with lots of intensity under the intense New Mexico sun. With high’s reaching the lower 90’s and humidity above 30-percent, the Aggies were up for the challenge. Several NM State players made great looking plays on each side of the ball while the coaching staff saw plenty of positives from their players.
The Aggies will scrimmage at 9 a.m. (MT), Saturday, Aug. 9 on the practice field.
The 2014 NM State football season opens up on Thursday, Aug. 28 against Cal Poly University in Aggie Memorial Stadium. Season tickets start at just $50 and can be purchased by calling 575-646-1420 or by going online to www.NMStateSports.com.
