LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State football team completed fall camp practice No. 3, Sunday, Aug. 3 on the football practice field on the campus of NM State. Today’s practice marked the first with shoulder pads and the team practiced with plenty of energy and enthusiasm.
Head coach Doug Martin was pleased with the team’s effort and hard work throughout the practice as was especially excited to see student-athletes making plays. The offensive and defensive lines battled each other in individual drills as the coaching staff is keeping an eye on who will step up, while the defensive backs and wide receiving core engaged each other with players on both sides of the ball showing their athleticism.
The Aggies practiced for about two hours ending with players encouraging each other and learning from one another. NM State is still in the NCAA mandatory five-day acclimation period. NM State will be back on the field, Saturday, Aug. 4 at 3 p.m. (MT) on the football practice field.
The 2014 NM State football season opens up on Thursday, Aug. 28 against Cal Poly University in Aggie Memorial Stadium. Season tickets can be purchased by calling 575-646-1420 or by going online to www.NMStateSports.com.
