Don Decker Elected to Serve as a Member of the Board of Directors for the CSCCa

Salt Lake City, Utah – Don Decker, Director of Strength and Conditioning at New Mexico State University, was elected to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa) at the organization’s 14th annual National Conference which was held May 7-9, 2014, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The CSCCa was established in May 2000 to meet the specific and unique needs of collegiate strength and conditioning coaches around the country.

"It is such a great honor to be on the board of directors for the CSCCa,” Decker said. “I'm humbled by the opportunity. The goal of this organization from its inception has been to make the profession of strength and conditioning better and it has.  I'm looking forward to being a part of the process that continues to move our profession forward."

Decker received the prestigious title of Master Strength and Conditioning Coach at the May 2004 MSCC Induction Ceremony. He has been serving on the organization’s Practical Examination Committee, which is responsible for developing the practical portion of the certification examination, which is part of the organization’s certification program—Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC).

Decker is a 24-year veteran in the field who has had a tremendous impact on the profession, as well as on an innumerable number of student-athletes who have had the privilege of training under his supervision.

“We are grateful to have Don serving on the CSCCa Board of Directors,” said CSCCa Executive Director, Dr. Chuck Stiggins. “He has a wealth of experience and knowledge that is of immense value to this organization and to the Board of Directors.  He is a tremendous asset, and we are fortunate to have Don as a member of our association. We appreciate his willingness to serve in this capacity. He is truly a model of an outstanding strength and conditioning professional.”
