LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The Collegiate Sports Video Association named Alex Nederhoff, video coordinator for New Mexico State, the 2013-14 Independent Football Video Coordinator of the Year.

“This is a great honor to be recognized by my peers,” Nederhoff said. “To win this award in my first year at New Mexico State and in our only year as an Independent, it is humbling that my peers look at me that way.”

“Alex was a great addition to our staff,” head coach Doug Martin said. “He is very knowledgeable about what he does and has brought a lot to our program. We are happy that Alex has received this award.”

Nederhoff was selected by a majority vote of his peers in the CSVA to receive the Coordinator of the Year honor. He is now a finalist for the prestigious Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year award, which will be announced at the annual CSVA banquet on May 22nd, 2014.

The Bob Matey Award is presented to the Video Coordinator who displays innovation, determination, perseverance, and technical skill as portrayed by the late Bob Matey, legendary video voordinator from Texas A&M.

A native of Wellsburg, Iowa, Nederhoff was born to Kevin and Beth Nederhoff. Nederhoff graduated with a degree in movement and exercise science from the University of Northern Iowa in 2011, where he was employed as the video coordinator for three years. He has been the video coordinator at New Mexico State since the summer of 2013. Nederhoff is engaged to be married this June to Elizabeth O’Brien.
