LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Head Coach Doug Martin begins his first year at the helm of the New Mexico State football program by welcoming his team back to the field for the beginning of 2013 spring football practice on Tuesday, April 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 a.m.

“I think we had a great winter conditioning program and coach Decker has been a great addition to our staff,” Martin said. “I’m looking forward to seeing these players on the field, to see what type of depth and talent we have. With changing our offensive and defensive schemes, I’m excited to see what our players can get done.”

Coach Martin also spoke about his top three goals he would like to see accomplished during spring practice.

“First I want to make sure our players are in the right positions to make plays, second I’m want to come out of spring practice with a very solid kicking game in all phases and third, I want us to come out of spring practice knowing we are a very physical football team.”

The Aggies hit the field in the first week of April and practice runs until May 4th. Practices are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 a.m. and Saturday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The spring game will be held on May 4th at Aggie Memorial Stadium. Game time for the spring game is set for 6 p.m.

All practices are open to public and are strongly urged to attend.
