Wallace Named to Phil Steele's All-Freshman Team

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - New Mexico State freshman offensive tackle Davonte Wallace has been named to the Phil Steele's 2010 All-Freshman Team, announced late Tuesday afternoon.

Wallace, a native of El Paso, Texas, played tackle as a true freshman for the Aggies in 2010, starting 11 of the 12 games. Wallace helped the Aggies rush for 1,526 yards and eight touchdowns, while the NM State passing game threw for 2,009 yards and nine touchdowns. On the season, Wallace collected 27 knockdowns, recording five knockdowns against New Mexico (Oct. 9), Idaho (Oct. 23) and Nevada (Nov. 20). Wallace allowed just two sacks on the season and committed just two penalties.

Wallace has also been nominated for Freshman All-American honors that will be announced in early January.
