HEAD COACH DEWAYNE WALKER
THOUGHTS ON WIN AGAINST SAN JOSE STATE
"We always feel great after a win. Even when you have mistakes, and we had some mistakes, it's a lot easier to correct those mistakes with a win. We're getting ready for Utah State. They're a great football team and I know defensively we'll have our hands full because of all the schemes they have. Our offense will have to be ready to go. It's going to be a challenge, but I know our guys are excited to get another chance to get a win."
THOUGHTS ON PREACHING CONSISTENCY TO THE TEAM
"You always have to have a message. There is always something to play for. You play for a win regardless if you have four games left, or even two games left. You play to win the game, so we're football coaches and these guys are student athletes/football players and that's what we do. There's always a message and this football team has been pretty consistent in trying to handle all of the challenges during the season."
THOUGHTS ON THE TEAM'S GOALS FOR THE LAST FOUR GAMES
"First of all, we want to win. At the same time, we want to be more competitive. That's part of building a program. If something happens and you don't win the game, at least you want to be able to fight to the end and not have to suffer blowouts. Win first, then fight to the end and be competitive are our goals for the rest of the season."
THOUGHTS ON PLAYING ON THE ROAD
"We talked about it on Sunday. You have to win on the road. Most coaches would love to live in a perfect world where you could win every home game and split your road games and you're probably going to have a successful season. We don't have a road win and it'd be perfect for us to follow up with a road victory after an exciting win this past week."
THOUGHTS ON UTAH STATE
"I think Gary (Andersen) has done a great job with that program. They have an explosive offense. I know for him, walking into his situation, they had a built-in offense for him. I know his biggest challenge was to try and improve the defense. We sit here with the same overall record and I know he wants to get a win just as bad as we do. I think it's going to be another good game."
OFFENSIVE LINEMAN AUNDRE McGASKEY
THOUGHTS ON TRYING TO WIN TWO GAMES IN A ROW
"Really, we're trying to win them all. We're going to start here with Utah State. We've been working hard all season and we should have more wins than we have now, but we're burying that in the past and we're going to keep moving forward."
THOUGHTS ON UTAH STATE
"They have a pretty good defense. They stand at the line and they bring it. We've seen defenses like that, but we're just going to play our game and try to win this game."
LINEBACKER FRANK PADILLA
THOUGHTS ON DEFENDING UTAH STATE'S QUARTERBACK
"He's very shifty, very fast. He's a double threat; he can throw the ball and run it. I feel like it's going to be a defensive game to shut down their offense. On top of that, they have a great defense. It's going to be a great game to go down to Utah State and just play."
THOUGHTS ON POSSIBLY WINNING A GAME ON THE ROAD
"It would be great. Road wins are hard to come by, especially in our division. It would be great to go down to Utah and get a win. It would be good not only for our team, but for the community and the coaches."
SAFETY DONYAE COLEMAN
THOUGHTS ON THE TEAM'S MENTALITY AFTER BEATING SAN JOSE STATE
"We're on cloud nine right now. We just have to keep trucking away, like Frank (Padilla), (Aundre) McGaskey and Coach Walker said, we just have to keep our eyes to the ground and keep it rolling. We won, it was a good win, but we're putting that in the past and worrying about this week."
THOUGHTS ON APPROACHING PRACTICE BEFORE UTAH STATE GAME
"We're going to try and be better than last week. We have to keep the fire going. We have another challenge coming up, which is Utah State. It's going to be Aggies versus Aggies, so it's going to be a really good game."
