DENVER – LaSasha Aldredge of the New Mexico State University track and field team was named the Western Athletic Conference Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the week of April 22-28.
Aldredge, a senior from Fresno, Calif. (Central East H.S.), finished fourth overall in the 400m with a time of 52.61, setting both a new record for the conference and a new all-time school record for NM State. Her time ranks tenth in the nation in the 400m. In the 200m Aldredge finished 11th overall with a time of 24.30. In the 4x100m relay, Aldredge helped the Aggies finish third overall with a time of 45.53, which now ranks third all-time for NM State. In the 4x400m relay, Aldredge and her teammates finished fourth overall with a time of 3:43.03, which places the squad second all-time for NM State.
This is the third time during the track and field season an Aggies has been named WAC Athlete of the Week, and the first time it has happened during the 2013 outdoor season. Last year, Aldredge was named WAC Athlete of the Week on three separate occasions.
