LAS CRUCES, N.M.—The New Mexico State track and field team continues its 2014 outdoor season when it travels to San Antonio, Texas to compete at the UTSA Invitational.

The Aggies head to San Antonio coming off the heels of their trip to El Paso, Texas where they competed in the UTEP Invitational (April 12).

Junior Diana Hawk continued her strong performance in the 1500-meter run by earning a first-place finish at the UTEP Invitational with a time of 4:40.63. Her finish marked the fourth consecutive week that Hawk has placed first in the 1500-meter run.

The Aggies weren’t done in this event, however, as junior Megan McNally and senior Sarabel Bojorquez would finish second and third respectively. Seniors Gael Sanchez and Christiana Barela and junior Katie Strong also finished in the top 10.

Senior Alishia Perkins and junior Jenna Banegas competed in the 100-and-200-meter dash. Perkins led the way in the 100-meter dash with a fifth-place finish, followed by Banegas in sixth. In the 200-meter it was Banegas who led the Aggies with a fourth-place finish.
