THE OFFICIAL 2013-14 TRYOUTS for NM State Cheer are:
Saturday May 25th
Clinic (Participants trying out for Mascot must register on this date and meet with the coach)
1:00-1:30pm Registration
1:30-2:00pm Tumbling Qualifying
2:00-3:00pm Cheer & Dance (Learn Tryout Material)
3:00-5:00pm Open Tumbling & Stunting (Work on Tumbling & Stunting)
What You Should Know:
-For the 1st cut, all Girls will be required to qualify a standing and round off back handspring on the court. Boys are not required, but highly encouraged.
-You will learn all of the material you will need for tryouts at this clinic.
-You will receive both Stunting and Tumbling Open times to either select a partner/group to stunt with.
What to Bring:

-$35 Registration and Tryout Fee (Cash Only-This is a one time only fee)
-Blank CD to burn music to practice dance. We will have some available for $3.00.
What to Wear:
-Shorts (Preferrably Soffe for Girls and Basketball Shorts for Boys)
-T Shirt/Black Spaghetti Strap and Sports Bra-Preferrably NMSU Colors
-Cheer Shoes for the Girls or Running Shoes for the Boys
Sunday May 26th
Tryouts
9:00-9:30am Registration
9:30-11:00am Pictures/Weigh In's/Interviews
12:00am Tryouts (Cheer & Mascot)
What You Should Know:
- Registration-You will receive a number, which will be your tryout number.
-You will then take a head and body shot (Girls in Black Sports Bra and Black Soffe Shorts), Weigh In with our certified Trainer, and Interview with the judging panel. This is agreat opportunity to show your personality.
-Tryouts will then begin. Mascots will tryout first then cheer. Mascots will tryout one at a time so please make sure to have your props ready. They will be conducted by two girls and two boys at a time for coed and 2 girls at a time for all girl.
-Once tryouts have ended the judges will deliberate and the final posting will be made. This will depend on how long tryouts will take, then there will be a MANDATORY TEAM MEETING promptly after final posting.
What to Wear:
Girls
-Black Sports Bra and Black Soffe Shorts
-Cheerleading Shoes
-Spankies or Bloomers need to be worn under shorts
-Hair Half Up and Half Down and curled with a White Bow
-Make Up- Lashes need to be worn and make up completed. Please look your best.

-White T Shirt (Plain no writing or images)
-Black Basketball Shorts

-Clean Shaves and Hair Cut
