NM State Menís Golf 10th after Two Rounds of Bayou City Collegiate

HOUSTON, Texas -- The New Mexico State men’s golf team completed round two of the Bayou City Collegiate Championship, Saturday, Feb. 22. The Aggies carded a team score of 1-over par, 289, five strokes better than round one. NM State is now 10th overall with a two-round score of 7-over par, 583 (294-289).

Junior Brett Walker continues to lead the Aggies after a second round score of even par, 72. Walker is tied for eighth following round two with a two-round score of 3-over par, 141 (69-72). Sophomore Kenneth Fadke II improved six strokes from round one to round two, shooting a 2-under par, 70 in round two. Fadke’s second round score was the lowest for the Aggies on the day. After two rounds, he is 2-over par, 146 (76-70), placing him in a tie for 41st.

Junior Pat Beyhan also improved his score from round one to round two with a 1-over par, 73. He is tied for 43rd overall after two rounds at 3-over par, 147 (74-73). Senior Willy Hogan carded a 2-over par, 74 in round two and is currently 5-over par, 149 (75-74) for the tournament, placing him in a tie for 56th.

Freshman Travis Benson rounded out the Aggie competitors with a 10-over par, 82. He is 18-over par, 162 (80-82) and tied for 84th.

Houston leads the tournament at 19-under par, followed by Texas (-10), South Carolina (5), Arkansas (-3) and Baylor (-2).

The Aggies will be back in action for the final round beginning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Live stats can be followed at golfstat.com.
