Aggies Travel to UNLV Invitational

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – After opening the season at home, the New Mexico State women’s tennis team hits the road for the UNLV Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev., Sept. 20-22.

The Aggies head to the Fertitta Tennis Complex to face competitors from Long Beach State, Northern Arizona, North Texas, Southern Illinois, Middle Tennessee State, South Alabama and host UNLV.

This is the season-opening tournament for the Rebels as well as LBSU, Southern Illinois and Middle Tennessee. The Aggies met competitors from NAU a week ago at the Aggie Invitational in Las Cruces.

Last weekend, NM State freshmen Brittany Collens and Susana Alcaraz won their respective singles flights, marking each player’s first career tournament title.

The tournament is set with seven flights of singles and four flights of doubles. Matches are slated to begin on Friday, Sept. 20, with doubles followed by singles play. The format will remain the same for the following two days, beginning at 11 a.m. (MT).
