Release:  06/18/2013

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (June 18)-New Mexico State swimming and diving head coach Rick Pratt has hired Rachel Judge as an assistant coach. Judge was a four-year member of the Aggie swimming and diving team from 2006-10.

“I am very excited and proud to announce that Rachel Judge is our new assistant coach at NM State,” Pratt said. “To have one of our former swimmers come back and be able to make a different impact on our program is really special for me.  Rachel has great enthusiasm and passion for swimming, and the energy she is bringing to our program will help us take things to the next level.  She works very hard, is organized, intelligent and most of all makes a great role model for our student-athletes.  I am thrilled to have her back.”

Judge returns to Las Cruces after coaching at Notre Dame Prep in Scottsdale, Ariz., for two seasons from 2011-13.

“I am so humbled by this opportunity,” Judge said. “It is such an honor to return to NM State. I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of such a positive, encouraging, hardworking team of girls and to coach alongside my mentor and friend. I am anticipating a very exciting year for the Aggies.”

As a student-athlete, Judge competed in the backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle events for the Crimson and White. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2010. Judge replaced Cassandra Dixon, who resigned to be a member of the faculty staff in the Art Department at NM State.
