Men's Tennis Heads into Final Weekend of WAC Play

LAS CRUCES, N.M.—New Mexico State men’s tennis heads into its final weekend of Western Athletic Conference play in Logan, Utah, April 12-13, facing Seattle on Friday at 12 p.m., and Utah State on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

NM State is 11-8 overall and 1-2 in the WAC. The Aggies come into this weekend after a 5-2 loss to Denver, on Senior Day, April 7.

Freshman Daniel Fernandez leads the Aggies in singles play at 13-4 overall. Fernandez and Naveen Manivannan have helped NM State in doubles matches with a 10-4 record overall.

The Aggies face Seattle University on Friday, April 12 to start the weekend. The Redhawks, which are coached by Mark Frisby, are 1-18 overall and 0-3 in conference.

On Saturday, NM State plays Utah State. The northern Aggies are 5-11 overall and 0-2 in the WAC under the direction of co-head coaches Lukas Bouton and Bryan Marchant.

After the final weekend of WAC play, the Aggies look to the WAC Championships hosted by Denver, April 25-28.
