LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State women’s tennis opens its second solid weekend of Western Athletic Conference play in San Antonio, Texas, April 5-7, after a conference break to battle in-state rival the University of New Mexico a week ago in Albuquerque.
NM State is 5-11 overall and 1-3 in the WAC. Ros-Polly Nguyen lead the team with a 12-4 singles record. The junior is riding a four-match win streak at the fifth position and is the only Aggie to be 3-1 in league play.
The Aggies face UT-Arlington on Friday, April 5. UTA, coached by Diego Benitez, is 4-9 overall and 3-2 in conference.
On Saturday NM State plays the University of Idaho. The Pioneers are 6-8 overall and 0-1 in the WAC under the direction of head coach Myriam Sopel.
The Aggies finish up the weekend against UTSA on Sunday, April 7, which is 5-9 overall and 0-3 in conference. Erin Scott is the head coach for the Roadrunners.
