LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The New Mexico State men's tennis team hosts its home opener against Northern Arizona and Western Athletic Conference foe UT Arlington on March 1-2, at the NM State Tennis Center after more than a week off from competition.
In their last time out, the Aggies topped St. Mary's 6-1 in San Antonio, Texas, but were rained out of the first WAC match versus UTSA.
The Aggies open the home slate with Northern Arizona on Friday afternoon with a 4-3 overall record. The Lumberjacks are 2-7 this season with a 4-0 loss to Aggie rival New Mexico early in February.
NM State then opens WAC play against UT Arlington on Saturday, March 2. The Mavericks are 1-2 this season with its most recent losses to Baylor and Texas. UTA won its first match of the spring season 6-1 over Cameron, but dropped its nest two with matching scores of 7-0.
NM State faces NAU on Friday at 1 p.m. and then meets UTA on Saturday, March 2, at 10 a.m.
