INDUSTRY HILLS, Calif. (Feb. 18, 2013) - The New Mexico State women's golf team shot a 42-over-par 326 on Monday during the second round of the Folino Invitational, hosted by Cal State Fullerton, placing them in 11th place in the overall standings after two rounds.

The Aggies have a total team score of 78-over-par 646 (320-326) heading into the final round at the par 71, 6,067-yards Industry Hills Golf Club at Pacific Palms located just outside of Los Angeles.

Freshman Kacey Dalpes continues to lead NM State on the leader board.  Dalpes started the day in a tie for seventh and proceeded to shoot a 9-over-par 80 on Monday.  Her two-day total of 13-over-par 155 (75-80) moves her to a tie 16th place.  She is, however, still only a couple of shots out of the top 10.

The best round of the day for the Aggies belonged to junior Amelie Buhl.  Her 7-over-par 78 during round two gave Buhl a total score 22-over-par 164 (86-78).  Not only did she have the low round of the day for NM State, she also made the biggest move up the leader board for the Aggies.  She picked up 15 spots from her position after day one and now sits in a tie for 46th place.

Senior Aileen Meredith almost matched Buhl's 78, finishing one stroke behind on the day with an 8-over-par 79.  She led NM State with two birdies on the day, both coming in the final five holes of her round and both coming on par-3 holes.

Meredith will head into the final round with a 25-over-par 167 (88-79) total score and in a tie for 53rd with teammate Laura Barron.  The Aggie sophomore finished the day shooting an 18-over-par 89 and, like Meredith, will head into the final round with a total score of 25-over-par 167 (78-89).

Rounding out the NM State lineup is freshman Viviana Macias who also shot an 18-over-par 89 during round two.  She will start the final round on Tuesday in a tie for 58th with a total score of 28-over-par 170 (81-89).

Gonzaga almost matched its first-round score of 303 during round two, finishing with a 20-over-par 304 on Tuesday.  The first-round leaders and defending tournament champions extended their lead and will enter the final round with a total team score of 39-over-par 607 (303-304) and an eight-stroke lead.

The low round of the day, and the tournament, belonged to UC Riverside who finished Monday with a 15-over-par 299, giving them a two-day total of 47-over-par 615 (316-299).  Riverside, who started the day in eighth place, now moves to second and figures to be the only team to challenge the Bulldogs for the tournament crown.

Rounding out the top 3 is host Cal State Fullerton who will head into the final round of its home tournament with a 52-over-par 620 (315-305) total score.

Individually, Portland State's Aram Choi will head into the final round on top of the leader board.  Choi shot a 1-over-par 72 on Monday and will enter Tuesday at 5-over-par 147 (75-72).  One shot behind Choi is Raychelle Santos of Gonzaga who equaled her round one 3-under 74 during the second round and sits at 6-over-par 148 (74-74).

Tied for third and two shots back of Choi are the biggest movers of the day, UC Riverside's Savannah Vilaubi and Stetson's Claudia Redinger.

Vilaubi started the day in a tie for 28th and then proceeded to shoot the low round of the tournament and the only round under par thus far, a 1-under-par 71.  Meanwhile, Redinger, who came into Monday in a tie for 20th, almost matched Vilaubi's score, finishing round two at even par 71.  Both ladies will head into Tuesday's final round with a 7-over-par 149 total score and a great shot of competing for the title.

Rounding out the top 5 is first-round leader Kristen Aiu of host Cal State Fullerton who finished the day with a 6-over-par 77 and has a two-day total of 8-over-par 150 (73-77).

The three-round tournament concludes on Tuesday with the final 18 holes.  Play is set to start at 8:20 a.m. (MT).
