13 Kemonte' Bateman


2011 (Junior): Bateman played in all 13 games for the Aggies in 2011 at wide receiver, and also returned punts. He recorded 28 catches for 414 yards and four touchdowns, returning four punts on the year as well. Bateman caught a career-long 69-yard pass from Matt Christian against Nevada (Oct. 29) part of a career-high 74 yards on the day. He posted his first career two-touchdown game against Idaho (Oct. 15), while hauling in a 50-yard pass from Travaughn Colwell as part of career high four receptions that totaled 73 yards against the Vandals. Bateman opened his Aggie career with three catches for 41 yards in the season opener against Ohio (Sept. 3). He made his first start at San Jose State (Sept. 24). Bateman started again at New Mexico (Oct. 1), with two receptions for 41 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown grab.

Pasadena JC: Bateman was a two-year starter at Pasadena Junior College at the wide receiver position. In 2010, Bateman was fifth on the team in receiving with 18 catches for 253 yards and three touchdowns. He averaged 14.1 yards per catch and 31.6 yards per game. Bateman also returned punts and kickoffs for Pasadena JC, leading the team in punt returns with 18 returns for 118 yards, averaging 11.8 yards per return, scoring one touchdown. He was third on the team in kick returns with 147 yards on nine returns, averaging 16.3 yards per return. As a freshman, Bateman was second on the team in receiving with 37 catches for 522 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 14.1 yards per catch and 58.0 yards per game. On special teams, Bateman returned three kicks for 48 yards, averaging 16 yards per return. He was named a first team Southern California Football Association, Southern Conference selection in 2010.

High School: Bateman played wide receiver for Crenshaw High School, helping his team to a league championship in 2006 and 2007. As a senior, Bateman caught 56 passes for over 900 yards and nine touchdowns and was named Receiver of the Year. As a junior, Bateman tallied 859 yards receiving and nine touchdowns. He also ran track and field for Crenshaw High School.

Personal: Bateman is the son of Arnold Bateman and Carmelita Brown. He plans to major in communications and minor in psychology.
