Graul, Cardoso Earn All-WAC Honors

BOISE, Idaho-New Mexico State senior goalkeeper Katie Graul and freshman midfielder Jazmin Cardoso have earned All-WAC honors, the conference announced Wednesday, Nov. 4. Graul garnered first team accolades while Cardoso collected second team honors. This is the pair’s first selection, which is voted on by the WAC coaches, and the first-ever in program history.  

 

Currently, Graul ranks first in the WAC in saves (111) and saves per game (6.17), while she is third in save percentage (.828). She also had a WAC-best 14 saves versus Idaho State. In conference games, Graul finished first in saves (47), saves per game (5.88) and shutouts (3). She was second in shutouts per game (0.38), third in save percentage (.839) and fourth in goals against average (1.03). Earlier this season, Graul claimed a conference award when she was named the WAC Defensive Player of the Week, Oct. 12.

 

Cardoso leads the Aggies in goals (6), points (12), shots (38) and penalty kicks (3-for-3). In the league, she is tied for 10th in goals. In WAC matches only, Cardoso tied for eighth in goals (3) and shots (21), ninth in goals per game (0.38), 10th in points (6) and shots per game (2.62).

 

The Aggies open play in the WAC Tournament Thursday, Nov. 5, at 12:30 p.m. as the No. 5 seed against the No. 4 seed Nevada at the Boas Complex in Boise, Idaho.
