KAHUKU, Hawai'i - The New Mexico State women's golf team dropped to 18th after day two of the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational in Kahuku, Hawai'i, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
After posting a 310 on day one, NM State brought in a team score of 324 on the par 72, George Fazio Course. UC Davis continued to hold on to the top spot in the 18-team field with a 5-under-par 571, while Demi Runas of UC Davis tops all players on the individual leader board with a 7-under-par 137.
For NM State, junior Buz Bowerman-Ritchie (Oshawa, Ontario) carded another 6-over-par 78 and is now tied for 65th, while senior Maggie Murphy (Sioux Falls, S.D.) fell to a tie for 73rd after shooting a 9-over-par 81 on the second day of play.
Junior Mint Swaschuto (Bangkok, Thailand) sits in a tie for 79th with a two-round score of 15-over-par 159 (77-82). Fellow Aggies Gina Bortoletto (The Woodlands, Texas) and Lindsay Reeve (Redmond, Ore.) carded an 11-over-par 83 in round two, while Bortoletto is tied for 86th and Reeve is 94th.
