LOGAN, Utah-The New Mexico State soccer team concluded the regular season with a 3-0 loss at Utah State, Sunday, Nov. 1, in Logan, Utah. The Aggies continue their inaugural season in the WAC Tournament, Nov. 5-6, 8, in Boise, Idaho.
Utah State struck early and posted a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals in the 1st and 3rd minute.
“We came out a little flat,” head coach Michael Needham said. “We gave up two goals in the first five minutes and that puts you on your heels right away, but we did a good job recovering. I thought we played a decent game after that.
“Utah State is a good team and after the first five minutes, our back four did a good job staying together and defending.”
Freshman midfielder Jazmin Cardoso led the Aggies with two shots on goal while senior goalkeeper Katie Graul recorded a match-high five saves.
