LAS CRUCES, N.M.-In the first home meet of the 2009-10 season, the New Mexico State swimming and diving team defeated Northern Colorado, 129-107, in a relay meet, Friday, Oct. 30, at the NM State Natatorium.
“Our first swims were a little flat but we had some solid swims and overall good efforts,” head coach Rick Pratt said. “In certain situations, we forgot about the details we have been working on and we cannot do that tomorrow.
“Kelly Conrad and Victoria Eickerman stood out and did a nice job in the fly events,” he said. “Kelly swam a lifetime best and definitely is gaining confidence in that event. Northern Arizona will be ready to go and it will be a heated contest.
The Aggies opened the meet with a win in the 400-medley relay. NM State also collected second-place honors. In the 400-butterfly relay, the Aggies claimed the top two spots. NM State then recorded the best times in the 800-free relay.
The Aggies host a double-dual meet against Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona, Saturday, Oct. 31, at 11:30 a.m.
