LAS CRUCES, N.M.-New Mexico State swimming and diving head coach Rick Pratt has signed Morgan Kimminau, Hannah Ferrin and Alexandra Fenton to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period, he announced Monday, Nov. 17.

Kimminau, an Englewood, Colo., native, and Alexandra Fenton, a Rio Rancho, N.M., native, are backstroke specialists while Ferrin competes in the butterfly events and hails from Dallas, Texas.

As a member of the Colorado Stars club team, Kimminau has posted a 59.3 time in the 100 back, 2:08.3 in the 200 back and 2:10.1 in the 200 individual medley for head coach Todd Schmitz.

“Morgan (Kimminau) is the perfect fit for our program,” Pratt said.  “She is dedicated, hard working and has leadership qualities, which will help her succeed in this program.  She is a versatile swimmer with the potential and talent to contribute immediately at the WAC level.  She will help add depth to our backstroke and IM events and has the potential to help on relays with her freestyle as well.  She fell in love with our team and environment we have at NMSU.  She will bring much to the culture of the team and I am excited to have her on deck.”

Ferrin swims for the Dallas Mustangs and head coach Mook Rhodenbaugh.  She has recorded performances of 1:04.9 in the 100 fly and 2:24.4 in the 200 fly, and both were long course meter pools.  In the backstroke events, Ferrin has 59 and 2:08.4 showings in the 100 and 200, respectively.  She also has a 24.8 in the 50 free and 53.7 in the 100 free.

“We were looking for a flyer and we got a great one in Hannah Ferrin,” Pratt said.  “She had a solid summer and impressed us with her versatility and progress.  She has great strokes and comes from a team that is well coached and works hard.  She will make an immediate impact in our conference and will help fill in a couple of the gaps we have in our lineup.  She is a hard working individual and a great student, and we are very excited to have her at NMSU.”

Fenton joins the Aggies after swimming for the Lobo Aquatic Club and head coach Doug Forbes.  She has recorded performances of 53.7 in the 100 free, 1:01 in the 100 back and 2:13 in the 200 back.

“Alex (Fenton) is the top recruit in the state of New Mexico and we are very excited she has chosen NMSU,” Pratt said.  “She is very athletic, coachable and has lots of potential.  She has been well coached and has the skills to take her swimming to the next level, and I am thrilled to have her do that at NMSU.  She is another great student and will make a great teammate.”
